Rescued Mustard

It seems so long since I have done an outfit post. Yesterday I pulled a skirt from my closet that I bought over a year ago. Had never worn it and was planning on selling it a month of so ago. So glad that I didn’t! This vintage warm wool was exactly what I needed on a chilly Sunday. It was raining like crazy yesterday so had to take the pictures inside (sorry for the shadows)

J.Tiktiner Mustard Swing Skirt, Gray Cowl Neck Sweater, spotted leather belt: Thrift| Steve Madden Bag: Goodwill| Etienne Aigner boots: Macy’s (stole from my mama’s closet :-) )

I threw on a black and white polka dot scarf as the day got colder, but I could not have been happier with my total thrift outfit. So glad that I held on to this vintage piece.

Make sure that you check out the newest vintage in the store!

Have a great Monday,

Birthday Suit 1, 2 or 3

Friday is my birthday! Over the weekend, I celebrated with my incredible friends in DC (and my NY loves made an appearance too!). Tonight is my traditional Pittsburgh celebration with my group of girls. Then I’ll do my family celebration on Thanksgiving and thrifting on Friday! My perfect birthday :-) So this morning my thoughts were on the perfect look for tonight. Here are the three choices I am thinking about:

1. Floral + Motorcycle Jacket

UO Jacket| Floral Shift w/ pockets, Leather and Suede boots, AE shoulder bag: thrifted

2. Shorts Suit + Chambray

Barrage Tuxedo Blazer, LizSport Button down, Necklace: Thrifted| Silence + Noise Shorts: Goodwill| Carlos Santana Nude Peeptoe: Buffalo Exchange

3. Sequins + Silk

City Streets Navy Blazer, Sequins Top: Thrifted| Jezebel Tapered Trousers: Gabriel Brothers| Snakeprint Nude Pumps: Rugged Warehouse, VA

I am really leaning towards look two, but I do love a little sparkle on my birthday. Look one feels a little similar to what I wore during my weekend birthday celebration, but I can’t say no to a good rocker floral. Help me pick!

I don’t really do Black Friday but I will be more than ready when Cyber Monday rolls around. I love “free shipping” deals and many sites give really good deals (including ABS Vintage!). We’ll talk about some of these steals next time.

Have an amazing Thanksgiving, my loves. The list of things that I am thankful for has no end, but you all have most definitely made the list. This blog has given me so much since I started it over a year ago. And knowing that I have some of you keeping on this journey means so much. Blogging has changed my life, and my amazing readers have been along for the ride. Thank you all!

Enjoy the holiday!

Layered Plaid

Some of you instagrammers saw a peek at my outfit yesterday (and my gush over my new Forever 21 over the knee socks), but I wanted to share some pictures of my fall outfit from yesterday.

American Rag Lace Dress, Plaid shirt, Spotted Belt: Thrifted|Two Tone Boots: Ebay|Colorblock over the knee socks: Forever21

Mixed textures are all the rage for fall. Leather and tweed, sequins and velvet, lace and plaid – all examples of great ways to get into this trend. The sun was in my eyes and rain on my head so that explains my silly faces in some. And some of you have asked if I use the sock bun technique for my bun – I don’t. That is all my wild hair tucked in with some bobby pins.

I didn’t get to putting new vintage on the store but I’m still working on it today. But still have great vintage available, shop around!

Happy Wednesday,

Shayna

Leopard & Last Days of Summer

Welcome back, darlings! I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend, and feels refreshed. Even though it has still been super warm where I am, summer is fading fast. We have a little over two more weeks until Autumn is officially here. I adore fall fashion so I am excited about that – and yesterday I took advantage of one of my favorite trends that was huge for summer and will carry us over in to fall.

Vanilla Star Leopard Jeans (Target), Arizona Chambray Shirt, Anne Klein bracelet, leather crossbody, belt, pin, earrings: thrifted | Mossimo Wedges: Target

This entire outfit was under $20 – and minus the shoes, all thrifted! The jeans are from Target and still had the tags on when I found them at Goodwill. This was my first run at printed pants, and I think that I am hooked.

ABS Vintage is having an end of summer sale – 50% off all “Summer Sale” items until Fall starts. I am adding new accessories this morning and more summer sales tonight!

Have a perfect day :-)

Peplum, Print & Peep-toe

I had the opportunity to be part of an amazing launch party fashion show for local Pittsburgh designer, Jazmeen, last night. Some Anything but Style Vintage pieces were seen on the runway and new vintage was available to purchase after the show. It was a great show and I had a super good time watching, selling and mingling with the well dressed guests. I was backstage helping with the model prep and setting up my table afterwards but I did get some pictures of the DIY vintage outfit I wore last night.

Miss Selfridge lace back dress: gifted (and pinned to be a high-low peplum top) | XOXO leopard pencil skirt: thrifted | Charlotte Russe peep-toe pumps: Charlotte Russe

You should know by now how much I love a good high-low hem. I just pinned the bottom of this short dress into my waistline and ironed a crease to give it a finished look. Three of my fave trends rolled in to one perfect outfit for the night.

And here are some of the ABS Vintage pieces rocking the runway:

Classiques silk tank | Enamel Earrings

Velvet Blazer: Sold | Escort Butterscoth Weekend Bag

A number of the models were wearing ABS Vintage earrings last night. It was such an exciting night and I hope ABS Vintage and Jazmeen can team up again soon!

Gentleman, I am uploading some new vintage for you tonight. So check back!

Have a perfect Monday,

Gone Green

I preach about cleaning out your closet to make room for more goods, but this outfit is one of the reasons I have a hard time sticking to that. I scooped these pants up for $5 at a thrift store over a year ago and this was my first time wearing them. I had tried them on many times and concluded that they just didn’t work with my body. I am so glad that I held on to these high waisted trousers! Good vintage always comes back around.

Tank/Green Trousers/belt/earrings: thrifted | Vintage Doctor Bag: Flea market | Pumps: Rugged Warehouse, in VA | Sunnies: Five Below

This was a perfect sunny Sunday outfit. Felt very 70s and that always makes for a good day. Plus the tally for this entire outfit (shoes, accessories, everything) was $27. I love thrifting!

What’s the last piece of clothing you saved from the giveaway pile only to fall in love with?

Oh and new vintage travel bags in the store!—take a look

Have a great Monday,

Free for all!

I have never been a fan of the all red, white and blue attire for Fourth of July festivities. I just don’t like limits on my outfit choices. But yesterday my family threw a pool party for my brother-in-law’s birthday and my sister wanted a July 4th theme. If I was going to follow these rules, I was going to do it vintage style. I pulled together this 1950′s pin-up inspired look.

My DIY Seersucker High Waisted shorts

F21 V Neck: Forever 21| DIY Seersucker shorts| Rimless sunnies: Five Below| Hairbow: Anything but Style Vintage

I found these shorts at Gabes for $3 in the boys section and turned them in to high waisted shorts for myself. Good to know that I can find some fitted but not too fitted shorts in the kids section :-)

Well darlings, because I love you, vintage and holidays so much there is a great deal going on over at ABS Vintage. Free shipping until July 5th at 8am! Free shipping on anything you order with the promo code FREE4TH. And I uploaded some new stuff. Spread the word and get to shopping while the shipping is on me!

Happy Holiday and I’ll see you back on Friday

Seafoam & Silk

On a trip to my favorite Goodwill last week, I picked up a gorgeous vintage silk button down. This has definitely been my season of silk, and I am so happy to add this houndstooth beauty to the collection.

Seafoam Clutch: Anything but Style Vintage | Rest: Thrifted

As much as I love this clutch, it is available on the store right now, so get to shopping!…Happy Monday :-)

Fly Fishing

My mom works for a center for independent living. They offer all kinds of assistance and resources for adults with both mental and physical disabilities. Her company often has these planned trips and I have had fun volunteering in the past. This week the trip was fishing in a lake north of the city. As you can see from the picture above it was a perfect day to be outside pretending to catch tiny fish. If you follow me on twitter, or instagram you’ve seen some of these pictures – but I wanted to share my trip and best of all my fishing outfit :-)

The Fisherman Uniform, right?

Chambray button down: thrifted | Beverly Hills Polo Club jeans: Gabriel Brothers | Charters Club belt: thrifted | Leopard scarf: borrowed | “Ray Ban” knock off sunnies: gifted
